2048 is a free online sliding-tile number puzzle. Every swipe slides all the tiles on a 4×4 grid in one direction, and tiles with the same number merge into one when they collide: 2 and 2 make 4, 4 and 4 make 8, and so on. The goal is to build a 2048 tile before the grid fills up and no moves remain.

- How do you play 2048?
- Swipe (or press an arrow key) to slide every tile on the board in that direction. When two tiles with the same number touch they merge into their sum. A new 2 or 4 tile appears after every move; you lose when the board is full and nothing can merge.
- What is the best strategy for 2048?
- Pick a corner, keep your highest tile there, and only slide in two or three directions so tiles stack towards it in descending order. Avoid the fourth direction unless you have no other move.
- What happens after you reach 2048?
- The game keeps going. You can continue merging to 4096, 8192 and beyond for a higher score.
